Terms of Service

1. What ZTR Is and Is Not

Zorthex Temporal Registry (ZTR) is a verification timestamping service. It creates contemporaneous records — dated, tamper-evident evidence that a human verification step was performed on a document at a specific time.

ZTR does not:

• Verify the accuracy or completeness of document content
• Detect errors, hallucinations, or fabricated citations in documents
• Provide legal, regulatory, or compliance advice
• Guarantee that any professional duty was fulfilled
• Store, access, or transmit the original document text
• Replace professional judgment

A ZTR receipt proves that verification occurred at a specific time under a specific context. It does not prove that the verification was thorough, correct, or sufficient to meet any particular professional standard.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By connecting ZTR to your Claude account and using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. Permitted Use

You may use ZTR to:

• Create verification receipts for documents you have reviewed
• Retrieve your past verification receipts
• Maintain an audit trail of verification activity for your professional practice

You may not use ZTR to:

• Create false records of verification that did not occur
• Misrepresent the nature or extent of verification performed
• Circumvent professional duties or court requirements
• Interfere with the service or attempt to access other users' data
• Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable law or professional ethics rules

4. Professional Responsibility

ZTR is designed to support professional verification duties, not to replace them. Users are solely responsible for:

• Performing adequate verification of AI-assisted documents before use
• Compliance with all applicable professional conduct rules, court rules, and regulations
• The accuracy and completeness of any document submitted to a court, client, or other party
• Ensuring that any review note added to a ZTR receipt accurately describes the verification performed

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing in ZTR or its documentation constitutes legal advice. The case examples referenced in ZTR documentation are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice or predict the outcome of any legal proceeding.

6. eIDAS Timestamps

When eIDAS-qualified timestamps are used, ZTR transmits the SHA-256 hash of your document (not the document itself) to Aruba PEC S.p.A., a Qualified Trust Service Provider under eIDAS Regulation (EU) 910/2014. The legal effect of eIDAS timestamps depends on applicable law and jurisdiction. ZTR makes no representation about the legal admissibility of receipts in any specific proceeding.

7. Service Availability

ZTR is provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee continuous availability or any specific uptime. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruption.

8. Intellectual Property

ZTR, the Zorthex™ framework, and all associated software are proprietary to Renato Santi. Use of the service does not transfer any intellectual property rights. Zorthex™ is a registered trademark (UIBM N.302026000090628).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZTR and Renato Santi are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to professional sanctions, court orders, or client claims.

7. Technical Preview Status

ZTR is currently offered as a free technical preview. There is no commercial offering at this time. All infrastructure and timestamp costs are borne personally by the creator. The service is provided on an evaluation basis.

During the technical preview period:

• The service is free of charge. No payment is required or accepted.
• A fair-use quota may apply (currently 10 receipts per user per day).
• The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.
• No service level agreement (SLA) is provided.
• eIDAS-qualified timestamps are provided subject to availability of timestamp allowances.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sassari, Italy.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
